ScripturAI LLC ("we," "our," or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use the ScripturAI mobile application and our website, scriptur.ai.

Information We Collect

Personal Information

We collect the following information to create your account and personalize your experience:

  • Name and Email: Collected through Apple Sign In for account creation, secure access, and personalized interaction
  • User Preferences: Such as Bible version, denominational alignment, and notification settings
  • Profile Information: Including username, spiritual interests, and study goals

Usage Data

  • Chat Conversations: Stored securely so that you can revisit prior interactions with the AI assistant and maintain continuity
  • Reading and Bookmark History: Tracks Bible passages you've read, saved, or favorited to support personalized study and reflection
  • App Activity: Which parts of the app you use and when, such as opening the app, the screens you visit, starting a chat, completing a daily reflection or a reflection plan day, and viewing or starting a subscription
  • Device Information: Your device model, operating system and app version, language, time zone, and screen size, along with network information such as your IP address, which our analytics providers may use to estimate your approximate location (city or region)
  • Push Notification Token: Collected if you allow notifications, so that we can deliver them to your device
  • Advertising Identifier: Your device's advertising identifier, collected only if you allow tracking when the app asks
  • Crash Reports: Technical details about app crashes, such as the state of the device and the part of the app that failed

Website Visits

When you visit scriptur.ai, we record the pages you view, the links and buttons you click, the page or link that brought you to the site, and your browser and device type. Our analytics provider, HeyCatch, stores a random identifier in a first-party cookie and in your browser's local storage so that it can recognize a return visit. Cloudflare Web Analytics counts page views without using cookies.

Financial Information

We do not collect or store credit card or payment information. All payments and billing details are handled securely by Apple through the App Store.

How We Use Your Information

Core Functionality

  • Authentication: We use Apple Sign In to securely log you in and manage your user account
  • Personalization: Your preferences, profile, and chat history are used to tailor content and AI responses to your goals
  • Conversation History: Past conversations are saved so you can review them, continue previous sessions, or reference theological discussions
  • Notifications: If enabled, we may send daily Bible verses or prayer prompts based on your preferences

Analytics and Advertising Measurement

  • Improving the App: App activity shows us which features people use and where they get stuck, so that we can decide what to improve
  • Fixing Problems: Crash reports help us find and fix bugs
  • Measuring Our Ads: To learn which ads and links bring people to ScripturAI, we tell TikTok and Meta when the app is installed or opened and when someone signs up, starts a free trial, or subscribes. We never send them your name, email address, conversations, or anything you write in the app

Data Handling and Security

Storage and Protection

  • All data is encrypted in transit using HTTPS
  • Personal data is stored on secure cloud infrastructure with strict access controls
  • Chat conversations and account data are never exposed to other users or shared without your consent

Data Retention

  • Account Data: Retained for the lifetime of your account
  • Chat History: Stored to support your personal study journey; you may delete it at any time within the app
  • Analytics Data: App activity, device information, and crash reports are kept by us and by the providers listed under Third-Party Services for each provider's retention period. Deleting your account removes your data from our own systems but not records already sent to those providers; contact us and we will ask them to delete those records

Third-Party Services

Apple Sign In

We use Apple Sign In for account creation and authentication. You may choose to share or hide your email address. We only access the information you allow Apple to provide.

Supabase (Backend Infrastructure)

We use Supabase to manage and store your user account, preferences, conversation history, and the app activity we record ourselves. Supabase provides secure cloud-hosted databases with access controls and encrypted data transit.

OpenAI (AI Conversations)

Your messages to the AI assistant are sent to OpenAI's API in real time to generate responses. These messages are processed transiently and not permanently stored by OpenAI. Your conversations are not used by OpenAI to train models or for profiling.

RevenueCat (Subscriptions)

RevenueCat processes your App Store purchases and keeps track of your subscription status. It receives your account ID, name, email address, and purchase history. It never receives your payment card details, which stay with Apple.

Google Firebase (Analytics and Crash Reporting)

Firebase Analytics, operated by Google, receives app activity and device information linked to your account ID. It also receives your subscription and trial status, your denomination, your preferred Bible translation, how long you have used the app, and ranges for how many chats you have started and how long your reflection streak is. Firebase Crashlytics receives crash reports linked to your account ID.

HeyCatch (Analytics)

HeyCatch receives app activity, the screens you view, and device information, linked to your account ID, name, email address, subscription plan, and sign-up date. We use it to understand how people find ScripturAI and how they use it. On our website it records visits as described under Website Visits.

TikTok and Meta (Advertising Measurement)

The TikTok Business SDK and the Meta (Facebook) SDK receive app installs and opens and in-app purchases with their price, together with device information. TikTok also receives sign-ups and free trial starts. If you allow tracking, they also receive your device's advertising identifier, which lets them connect this activity to ads you saw in other apps. If you decline, iOS withholds the advertising identifier from them.

Cloudflare (Website)

Cloudflare delivers our website and provides page-view statistics that do not use cookies.

Your Rights and Choices

  • Update Profile: You may edit your preferences and profile information at any time
  • Delete Conversations: You may delete individual chats or your entire conversation history
  • Delete Account: You may request full deletion of your account and all associated data
  • Export Data: You may request a copy of your data in a portable, machine-readable format
  • Opt Out of Notifications: You may enable or disable notifications from within the app at any time
  • Tracking: You may allow or decline the tracking request the app shows, and change your choice at any time in iOS Settings under Privacy & Security, then Tracking
  • Website Cookies: You may block or clear cookies and site data for scriptur.ai in your browser settings

Data Sharing and Disclosure

  • We Do Not Sell Data: We never sell or rent your personal information to third parties
  • Service Providers: We share data only with the providers named under Third-Party Services, and only for the purposes described there: running the app (Supabase, OpenAI, and RevenueCat), understanding usage and fixing crashes (Google Firebase and HeyCatch), and measuring our advertising (TikTok and Meta). Analytics and advertising providers never receive your conversations or your reflection answers, and we do not share data with data brokers.
  • Limited Aggregation: We may use anonymized, aggregated data to improve the app experience or understand overall usage patterns
  • Legal Compliance: We may disclose data only if required by law or to protect user safety and platform integrity

Children's Privacy

ScripturAI is intended for users aged 13 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13. If you believe that a child under 13 has provided us personal information, please contact us for prompt removal.

International Users

If you access ScripturAI from outside the United States, your information may be transferred to and processed in the U.S. By using the app, you consent to this processing.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as our app evolves. You will be notified of any significant changes via the app or email. Continued use of ScripturAI constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
